PhD on self-supervised learning for satellite images
We are looking for a highly motivated and creative student to start a fully-funded PhD in October 2022 on self-supervised learning for satellite imagery, as part of the SENSE CDT. This is a great opportunity to both develop machine learning algorithms, and apply them to the real-world problems of crop monitoring and glacier surge detection. More details of the project are available here.
Funding is awarded through a number of SENSE studentships. These are available for both UK and international students, although there are fewer of the latter.
If you are interested, please email your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org with the title [Prospective Student - SENSE]. To formally apply, click here. Note that you need to apply via a University of Leeds portal, even though you will be based at the University of Edinburgh. The application deadline is 9th January 2022.
